A FURIOUS motorist has hit out at a local garage and claimed it used the world’s largest military airshow as an excuse to hike petrol prices.

A local Fairford resident, who asked not to be named, said she was horrified to discover the price of petrol at the town’s Shell garage had increased by 3p during the Air Tattoo, held on the weekend of July 16-17. the current price of unleaded petrol is 1349 pence per litre.

she said: “I mentioned to the cashier that I noticed that the petrol had increased by 3 pence a litre from last week.

“His excuse was that petrol sales had gone down, and that it was the weekend of the RIAT. I was not happy and told him that due to the RIAT the local people had to suffer with the increase in petrol charges.”

Both the garage operators and Shell declined to comment.

Tel Hai College student union organizer Aviad Rosenfeld pitched his tent alongside dozens of others in this Kiryat Shmona protest against soaring housing prices. Slogans plastered on placards around him decried the rising rent and the injustice of failing to provide citizens who put their lives on the line in the army with the means to obtain a mortgage. On average housing prices throughout Israel have risen 60% since 2007.

Rosenfeld sweltered alongside his tent in Kiryat Shmona’s 104-degree (40 C) heat. some students spaced out, their iPod earbuds firmly implanted. ahead of them lay nothing but a little chanting, and a lot of time.

When Chabad Rabbi Moshe Sasonkin showed up on Friday, Rosenfeld and his friends passed the time asking their best stump-the-rabbi questions.

Rabbi Sasonkin did not come to protest even though he and his family have felt the pinch of a hot real estate market. Rent on his modest apartment jumped from 2000 NIS (US$590) to 3000 NIS (US$885) in the past two years.

“I came just to be their friend,” said Rabbi Sasonkin. “I care about their issues and feel their struggle.”

Since the first visit, Rabbi Sasonkin has been back twice a day. He’s shared lessons from the current Torah reading about the wisdom achieving aims through persistent, calm means. Today, the students requested books from his Chabad house library.

The first protest tents were assembled on Rothschild Street in Tel Aviv. at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, the tent dwellers received eviction notices in the name of the mayor. Protestors wearing red t-shirts banged a tattoo on rolling plastic garbage cans in response, but no one took down the tents. Not yet.

Chabad at Tel Aviv University’s representative Rabbi Yeshayahu “Shai” Gerlitzsky knows many of the students living in the tent city. He’s not sure that protesting central Tel Aviv prices is a battle worth fighting. For him, living in Tel Aviv is a requirement that comes with the job. He’s been searching for a three-bedroom apartment in the area where an old, needs lots of TLC apartment goes for 6000 NIS (US$1,770) per month. “It would be better to live in Bat Yam,” a suburb near-by where rents are “at least fifty percent less.”

Tel Aviv University student Jeremy Dery is finishing up his master’s degree in conflict resolution, but he is not taking part in the protest. He hasn’t formally become an Israel citizen yet, so he does not think it is his battle to fight. He splits the cost of a 6000 NIS per month, three-bedroom apartment with two other students, but the high cost of living is not changing his mind about making Israel his permanent home. What gives him pause is word from the tent city denizens that their ultimate goal is not cheap rent but toppling the government.

A Haaretz newspaper poll found the 87% of Israelis support the tent protests. Israel’s labor federation announced this morning that it may call a general strike on August 1 in support of protestors.  in Bet Shemesh, a mini-tent city is planned for this afternoon to protest the new housing units currently under construction for a specific population sector. Tomorrow, tots will be pushed in strollers adorned with yellow balloons in a Mothers’ March in Rishon Letzion, Netanya, Kfar Saba, and Hod Hasharon protesting the high cost of baby items and day care in Israel.

The protests come in midst of an ongoing doctors’ strike and after a social workers strike and a boycott organized against the price of cottage cheese. in a country with socialist roots, the strikes and protests have a storied past. the Israeli public is waiting to see where this latest wave will end.

The first thing I can say about the cost for eyebrow tattoos is that it varies greatly, anywhere from $200 to $2,000, mostly depending on who does the work and where you are located. However, after speaking to many women and reading many reviews and comments on ladies who have had the most pleasant results with their permanent eyebrow tattoo, it is safe to say that you get what you pay for.

A clinic where a plastic surgeon or a nurse perform the tattooing is going to cost more than if you have your friendly neighborhood tattoo artist do the job. I have had all my cosmetic tattooing done in clinics. After shopping around, I paid $400 for a simple eyeliner and $600 for eyebrows. Later I paid $1,500 for a package that included an eyeliner retouch (after 4 years), a lip liner and an eyebrow retouch. In another city I paid $900 for a similar package, but a friend of mine in the US paid 2,400 and was happy.

In Taipei I paid $300 for an eyeliner retouch (after 5 years) and in Hong Kong, $550 but it lasted a very long time and the pigments were rich and haven’t faded. It might be worth a trip to Asia to have your next cosmetic tattooing done. By the way, the service in an Asian clinic is amazing. they bring you tea, have special recovery rooms if you want to take a nap in afterward, have personal flat screen TVs where you can watch a movie while getting your tattoo, and childcare facilities for moms who need a tattoo break.

These are some little Eastern touches the west hasn’t caught onto yet, but I’m sure they will.

The price of tattoo supplies varies depending on the quality of the equipment and the supplier. The power supplies will cost in the range of $150-$300, but you can find tattoo power supplies on eBay or Amazon for $80-$100. Remember though when buying anything including tattoo supplies, you get what you pay for.

Tattoo machines are also a very important part of your tattoo supplies; they can also be brought on eBay, but it’s best to shop around online before you make that final decision. if you go for a better or more expensive tattoo machine it will last you a lifetime and you will more than get your money back; they will pay for them self really quickly.

The clip cord and pedal are usually an additional $40; sometimes you can find them a lot cheaper if you look around. The tattoo tubes also vary a lot in price; you can buy disposable tattoo tubes for under $1, but you are not going to have as much control over your machine. Tattoo caps can be brought for around $20 by the thousand depending on the size.

Tattoo inks can be brought very cheaply but you are better off using some of the better more expensive tattoo inks. You can expect to pay around $30 for an 8 oz bottle of colored tattoo ink, depending on the color.

Tattoo chairs can cost upwards for $400 are a very important part of your tattoo supplies and really a must have.

I hope this gives you an idea of the costs when you first buy your tattoo supplies.

Tattoo Quotes are becoming more and more popular. Having a tattoo that features an inspirational phrase or words that hold special meaning can make that tattoo very personal. here are my favorite tattoo quotes.

There are many inspirational phrases to choose from when selecting one for a tattoo. but many do not work. a tattoo quote is unique in that it must be short yet still be able to convey a meaningful message. the reason is that the locations where tattoos are usually placed on people do not offer much room.

So given that tattoo words are short there are fewer quotations and uplifting messages to select from. however, if a person is careful and does their due diligence you can find just the right saying for the body art.

Here are a few I find to be very meaningful.

“Wake Your Dream”

Everyone has a dream, if not they should have one. Having a dream gives us something to work towards, something to hope for and provides purpose in what we do. Some people ignore their dream thinking it is not possible to achieve. That can be the worst thing to do. everyone should pursue their dream.

“Live Laugh Love”

What better words to live by than live, laugh and love. Life is precious and meant to be enjoyed. Life is also far too short to waste. Sure there are risks if you chose to live and approach the world with your lighter side by laughing, but it makes the journey much more memorable and rich. if you look for and embrace love and all that comes with it and you look for reasons to be happy and laugh then you are truly living life.

“For ever Young”

This is another inspirational tattoo quote that I find very uplifting. Even as we age we can still think young. It is true the body may start to slow down as a person gets older, but that is no reason to give in to aging. Some may say that life is wasted on the youth. but I say that is only of you let it. You are truly only as old as you let yourself. This tattoo saying reminds us to stay active and think young and enjoy life-no matter what is thrown our way.

If you are considering having tattoo quotes instead of a picture for your body art, be sure to think the decision through carefully. the words you have written on your body will be there the rest of your life. consider carefully where the placement will be located. You want to make sure the decision you make will be one you are still happy with years into the future.
