Police issue tattoo photos of Chepstow Road blaze man

GWENT Police released photos in a bid to identify the man burned in a fire on Chepstow Road in Newport on Wednesday.

the pictures are of two tattoos, one showing a symbol on his left upper arm. the other, on his right upper arm, is a figure of a person that appears to be a female wearing a hat.

Despite extensive enquiries officers have been unable to identify the man who remains in Morriston Hospital in a critical condition.

the man is aged between about 25 and 30 years, with short dark hair, of a slim to medium build and approximately 5’8″ tall.

A 27-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assault on the victim is still in police custody being questioned.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information, anyone who may know the who the injured man is or anyone who was in the vicinity of Chepstow Road between 7pm and 10.15pm on Wednesday 9th March to call them on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
